The Story behind

Our nonprofit started with a lawsuit against permits given to a particular hotel in the hotel zone area of Cancun. The hotel project is not congruent with the infrastructure the city has nor with the particularities of the area.

Though, we then learned that such project, as well as others, are possible due to the Municipal Urban Development Program approved by the Municipal Council in 2014 later ratified/modified in 2018.

Our Actions

So, since 2018 we have conducted workshops, a seminar and created a cartoon brochure to provide information to the community. This along with several lawsuits submitted before State and Federal Courts involved in the particular Cancun case.

Our experience allows us to share the key information and help environmentalists groups in all Quintana Roo to target their Municipal Urban Development Program with specific legal requests.
